Rojaks is finally back on track after MIA for so long.

Everyone is gathered together once again to make it happen.

Previously Rojaks member re-united with addition of new members.

Will we be a much better and consistent team? I believe we will be.

I believe that no matter how good a player is, he/she will not succeeded if he/she doesnt play as a team. A strong team is when every player knows one another strength and weaknesses.

A team will become stronger and stronger through all the ups and downs, all the bonding sessions.

Who are we?

Hello peeps, recently 10 of us Sunway-Rojaks players actually went for a Tourney @ Alice Smith International School.

The Taylor's Ultimate Open - TUO was held on the 17th July 2010. With a total of 16teams - all being local except for 1 Singaporean team. It was a good day for ultimate, filled with lots of action and excitement.

As for us? We went in various teams.

Carebears 1 - Billy, Yeeler, Serngy, Lixing, Rayven and Jane
Carebears 2 - Darren and me
Inti Stringrays - Kelly
Satu Lagi Naan - Mariam

Assessment of individual players :

Billy - pinpoint for that 1 point against VJ ;p , imba runner, 1 2 1 2 with everyone.
Yeeler - awesome handling and cutting, 1 2 1 2 with billy.
Serngy - awesome handling, even scored!
LiXing - best mid ever (tho billy begs to differ)
Rayven - (am not very sure with the performance, didnt see much)
Jane - daring, never drop disc, lots of room for improvement
Darren - Best Defence in deep, handling was good, little impatient
MaeYan - Ran hard(only against el ninos), lazy on defence, dropped disc twice! Overall suck.
Kelly - No drops
Mariam - Needs to cut harder

Okay. This is what I managed to come up with. For those that I didn't comment much, I'm sorry but I wasnt paying much attention I guess. Fill me in with more details.

Overall, think we all did well? For those who did not put in your 100%, you should be disappointed with yourself (I know I am).

Had an awesome tourney. Played with an awesome team. Had an awesome day. Badly sunburnt. But I had fun. Worth it? Hell yes (:

We had our agm, n the following r the new board committees:

Treasurer : Lee Pei Wen

We have also set the day for our club activity, which will be on tuesday n thursday. For the thursday meeting, most probably we will be joining the monash frisbee club n play together.

Hello all,

MUSA requires all students participating in an external event to sign a disclaimer form.
Drop by on Thursday 5pm(this Thursday or next Thursday) to sign the form.

Broga hill is only 45minutes hike to the awesome lalangs and scenery.

Details:

Meet at Monash : 2.30PM (Main Entrance)

When : Monday, 28th September, 2009
What to bring : first aid, food/snack, drinking water (minimum 1.5L), change of clothing, trekking pole (optional)
What to wear : comfortable clothing (longs pants), hiking shoes, cap
Level of difficulty : easy - moderate
Cost: TBA, carpooling if there is less than 20people, renting bus if we have more than 20.

Is that all we are going to do after an hour of traveling and just hike a hill?

1. We are also filling out tummy's with sinful Broga food(cheap and tasty),
2. Drop by at University of Nottingham for ultimate frisbee.

We'll return to sunway around 9pm.

Well~ since we are still working on bringing the team closer as a whole, I decided to just do something for Mariam's B'day.

Firstly, had to make sure thats she comes on friday for frisbee AND it doesn't rain at that time.

She did come, but she had to go back early =( So, no choice just have to cut the 'cake' before she leave lorh.. Thus, the brownie was finally cut and I think we managed to surprise her a lil? =D

SunwayRojaks vs El Ninos

Everyone played well in this friendly match, not many mistakes especially with the newbies, n we managed to end the game at 7-6, although we lose... but deeply in my heart, we won ~ ^_^

To the newbies :
sry that we didnt really trained u much for the friendly match, n didnt pass the disc to u guys, hope u guys had fun n learn something throughout this friendly match. =)

Here is the assessment on all the players (mae yan's idea) <- why my name appear here o.o
handlers:
serng - hucking(long throw) abit off today, but it was a good try. U played well.
li xing - handling abit off today, but the cuts was good, especially the one u scored
yee ler - ur throw not really good, abit too high n opponent able to D it, but ur cutting was really nice

Overall, the handlers did a very good job on bringing the disc up to the zone.

girls:
georyn - ur cutting is not still that good, need to improve on that... but u did a very good job in trying hard to defence n catching the disc... got the semangat!
mariam - got improvement, but dont lose ur opponent so easily
mae yan - didnt missed any disc using hamburger, n no small mistakes .... got improvement ... (lol! billy actually praise me! =D)

guys:
yu liang - should mark tighter.. olwiz tercampak your men.. but you did well.. throws n catch all not bad. Good effort, more room for improvement.
moon lum - did some awesome catches 2 score, nice D when pressuring the opponent, but need to improve ur cutting.. keep it up
darren - did well in defending n did a awesome layout catch .... good job ~
billy - erk, didnt try his best in the game, only putting 40% effort ... need to train harder !

Overall~ we played well today. However, we can improve more to even handle other stronger team. Great job everyone!

What is a Hat tournemant?

Players register and rate themselves on their skill level chart, and the oraganisers will try their best to even teams based on that. Your team will likely be made up of people you've never met! This allows you to meet new people, and playing with unfamiliar players is great way for improving your skill! All are welcome, regardless of skill level.

Venue: University Malaya, Varsity Green Field (possibility)
Time: 8.00am-5.00pm
Registration Fee: RM25
Tourney Rules: WFDF Ultimate Rules 2008

This tournament is a first come first serve basis. 120 players is the cap for this tournament.

Hey,

dont certify sunway rojaks dead, REVIVE it!!! i believe that all of you can play your little part by going down for pick ups! :) and since there are so many new recruits, build up their interest and train them to be as good as you guys! then rojaks can expand and be alive once again! :) all of you have the ability to play well , don't let it go to waste, don't let your talents go down the drain just like that!! prove to others that all of you have the power to be a strong team and win whatever upcoming competitions!! :) don't let others who think negatively influence you, instead, look at those who are improving or are already very pro, enthusiastic and positive to motivate you to wanna be like them or even, be better than them! :) i believe in all of you! i may not be there physically, but my heart is there with sunway rojaks! it's really fun playing with all of you and thanks for teaching me and making me who i am today :) i hope that you all will revive sunway rojaks and good luck for all upcoming competitions! :)
